Our story

Two homes on a street, both with two-car garages and landscaped yards

Our story

In the late 70s, our parent company pursued a variety of successful real estate ventures, from commercial construction to property management. In 1977, the company formed Richmond Homes Limited to pursue building single-family homes and everything fell into place. By the end of the first year, 27 homes had closed and 65 more were under construction. In the decades that followed, we built over 250,000 homes nationwide—earning a reputation for quality and attention to detail.

We never looked back.

Nearly 50 years later, we became Sekisui House US—the American branch of Sekisui House, a global homebuilding leader with more than 60 years of experience and over 2.7 million homes built worldwide. As the parent company of Richmond American Homes, we remain dedicated to creating homes that evolve with the needs of today’s buyers.
